Dunlop Tires' history dates back all the way to 1888 in the United Kingdom. Dunlop's founder, John Boyd Dunlop, invented the modern pneumatic inflatable tire. In 1999, Dunlop was bought out by Goodyear. As of 2006, Goodyear Dunlop no longer manufactures any tires in the United Kingdom, though they remain an innovator in racing tires and an ever popular brand of consumer tires.

Dunlop's extensive line of tires includes models for sport-compact cars, performance cars, passenger cars and trucks/SUVs.

Dunlop high-performance tires range from T-rated performance radials all the way up to drag slicks. Dunlop SP Sport 9000 tires are a maximum high performance model Z-rated tire. The Direzza GRP is an extreme high performance tire designed to be equally at home on the street or on the strip. Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires are an economically-priced model performance all-season radial that will improve your handling while not drastically-altering your pocketbook.

Dunlop's performance line of tires includes a wide range of models sub-categorized into all-season high performance models, extreme high performance models, maximum high performance models and ultra high performance models. Performance tires, as their name suggests, maximize handling, responsiveness and speed. Innovative tread patterns and low-profile tires fill this line of tires. Dunlop performance tires add an aggressive look to your performance car.

In contrast to Dunlop's aggressive and performance-minded lines of tires are their passenger tires. These dependable all-season tires are engineered for maximum tread wear and dependable all-weather traction.

Dunlop's light truck and SUV tires share many of the same features as their auto tires. Their Grandtrek PT9000 and Sport Rover GTX are ultra high performance models. Several all-weather models offer dependable service. The Radial Mud Rover and Radial Rover RT models will help you through the muddiest off-roading with ease.

No other tire manufacturer can compete with the number of high performance and ultra high performance tires Dunlop produces. For an innovative, race-inspired tire, go see Dunlop.
